We import raw rubber and make our own soles at the workshop.<\/strong><\/p>\n The result is a very quiet, flexible yet hardwearing sole.<\/p>\n Your Courteneys come fitted with the standard sole that we feel suits that particular style of shoe or boot.<\/p>\n But you can customise your choice:\u00a0boots can be ordered on a different sole pattern\u00a0from standard, should you so wish.<\/p>\n Choices are:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n WARNING:<\/p>\n \u2717\u00a0 Do not sit with your Courteney boots held to a fire \u2013 the cement which bonds the sole to the boot will be damaged.<\/p>\n \u2717\u00a0 Do not stand in oil, petrol, diesel, solvents \u2013 rubber is allergic to all of these and your soles will be irreversibly damaged.<\/p>\n Rubber is a hydro carbon.<\/p>\n An old rule of chemistry is \u201clike dissolves like\u201d \u2013 solvents that are chemically similar to solids will tend to dissolve them.<\/p>\n Oils, petrol and diesel are chemically similar to rubber so will be readily absorbed by your sole, and your soles will swell and separate from your boot.<\/p>\n Recall what happens in the back of your rubberised pick-up truck when you spill fuels.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Choice of Soles Courteney footwear has genuine rubber soles.
